MingPath is a digital service provided for users in the United States. The operator of MingPath is the data controller for the information described here. Contact: renyanda@protonmail.com.
Birth details (date of birth, time of birth if you provide it, birth city, gender). Used to calculate your chart and generate your report. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Because interest in Chinese metaphysics may reveal something about your philosophical outlook, we also ask for your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR) before we use these details. You can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing your browser storage and emailing us.
Where these are stored: your birth details are written to your own browser's local storage under the key "mp_birth". They are not sent to us and we do not hold them on any server. If you clear your browser data, they are gone. We cannot access, export or delete them for you, because we never receive them.
Email address. Only used if you contact us for support or via the contact form, so we can reply. We do not send reports by email and we do not add you to any list without your explicit opt-in. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for support correspondence.
Marketing emails. Only if you separately tick the optional marketing box. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is as easy as subscribing.
Payment information. MingPath does not process payments and has no payment provider. Every tool and report on this site is free to use. We never receive, see or store any card or account number.
Analytics. If, and only if, you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected.
Contact form. Submissions are processed by Formspree so that we can reply.
If you use our compatibility feature and enter someone else's birth details, please only do so with their knowledge and agreement. Those details are held in your browser exactly as your own are, and are never sent to us.
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we never will. We share the minimum necessary with: Formspree (contact form only, if you message us), Google Analytics (only with your consent), and Cloudflare (which hosts this site and processes technical request data such as IP addresses to serve pages and protect against abuse).
MingPath is operated outside the EEA and the UK. Some of our service providers are also located outside the EEA and the UK. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or the UK we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where relevant), together with additional safeguards where needed. You can ask us for details of the safeguards that apply.
Birth details: not retained by us at all — they live only in your browser. Order records: we do not process orders or payments, so we keep no order or transaction records. Support emails: kept for 24 months after the conversation ends. Marketing list: kept until you unsubscribe, and then a suppression record only.
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given without affecting the lawfulness of what we did before. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
If you are a resident of California or another US state with a privacy law, you may have equivalent rights to know, delete, correct and opt out; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Your report is generated automatically from your birth details using fixed templates. This is not a decision that produces legal effects for you or similarly significantly affects you, and there is no profiling for advertising.
MingPath is not for under-18s. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
